Collect the evidence and assess. We look for visible issues such as fault appliances or lights. We then use our other sensory triggers such as smells and touch to see if overheating has occurred. Once we have the information we can make an assessment based on our training and experience.
Locate the fault. With all the evidence pinpointing the fault becomes easier and we can run tests to check the fault and its cause
Repair the fault. This can include replacing a faulty item such as wiring or fittings or can in some cases involve a more comprehensive solution such as a rewire
Test the system to check if the fault has been fixed.
